Ben Oxley

My name is Ben, and my purpose in music is achieving vocal freedom in my students. I have been performing with prestigious opera companies, orchestras, conductors, and ensembles in the world (Berlin Philharmonic, English National Opera, Opera Australia), conducting, and teaching for 30+ years. Career highlights include singing for the Dame Elizabeth Taylor Gala at the Royal Albert Hall with performers such as Andrea Bocelli and Tony Bennet sharing the stage. I also taught at the Italia Conti Academy of Theatre Arts in London, the world's oldest theatre arts training school. My book “How to win singing competitions” contains outlines and stories from world class and famous professionals that have helped launch some of Australia’s finest young singers.

When you step into our inspiring studio, I offer not only the decades of my own experience, but the wisdom of those I have studied with such as Vernon Mackie and Eduardo Asquez. The aural tradition and lineage of this education goes back to the very composers of the Bel Canto era. With the knowledge of refined vocal technique and activation through demonstration and explanation, you will have the stability and ease you have always wanted in your voice.

So how can I begin to help you? Be prepared to do the work to be ready to sing. It is something I have taught many students. You should use precise exercises and warmups to give your best. I have worked with performance specialists and psychologists on how to prepare for your audition and performance. You will know vocal freedom when you coordinate all of these steps. Let me show you how.
